Sanity

From https://www.sanity.io/: Treat content as data—actionable and scalable across your business—with the Sanity Composable Content Cloud.

I’ve been working for Sanity since 2023, and at this point I wouldn’t want to build another site without it as the content layer.

Customizability

Sanity’s Studio is one of those rare tools where the ceiling feels genuinely unlimited. The schema system is fully code-driven, which means if you can describe it in JavaScript, you can model it in Sanity. Custom input components, conditional fields, live previews, custom dashboards - it’s all there and it’s all composable. I’ve yet to have a piece of functionality I couldn’t build with Sanity.

Pricing

The free tier is genuinely generous - enough to ship real projects without reaching for a credit card. And the pay-as-you-go model means costs scale with actual usage rather than arbitrary seat counts. It’s one of the most honest on-ramps in the CMS space.

More than a CMS

The biggest shift in how I think about Sanity is treating it less as a “CMS” and more as a content platform. Content becomes structured data that can power anything: websites, apps, personalization, AI pipelines. I’ve seen it firsthand with customers who come in thinking they need a blog editor and leave with a content architecture that touches every part of their business.
